Update: Dry Shampoo, two weeks later...

Happy Memorial Day all. I hope you had a fabulous day off (if you were off that is). I really have to apologize for being so absent lately but I just have really been in a funk with the blog. I have had some really great weekends lately, filled with beach and boating. I have to say I am getting quite the tan lol.

I do have an update, here I posted how much I was loving the Rockstar Dry Shampoo. I am sad to report that I am oh so disappointed. I used this three times and went to use it again tonight and it was empty---or clogged, or something! It's super aggravating--$12 for three times! I'm really bummed. Back to the baby powder I go.

Anyone have similar experience? This seems to be the case for all spray dry shampoo's I have tried.

Good news, short week this week. Here's to the short week and the Miami Heat in the FINALS!!

Nails: My Holy Grail Color for Summer

I have found it, my IT color for the summer. I was wondering around Ulta last week and OPI had a Brights Display with a few really great bright colors for summer. This color really grabbed by attention. I don't know if it is a new color or if this has been around for a while but it is really worth checking it out.

I present to you...Charged Up Cherry

When I first applied it and I was inside, it was more of a red with a pink tint to it but once I was outside, it was full on hot pink. I love it. I think it's so fun and summery. If you are one to love bright colors, I highly recommend this.

I also bought a color from the Pirates collection but it's so mellow compared to this so I need to wear this out for a while before going back to mellow.

Have you found a perfect bright color for summer??? Please share!

Happy Monday.

Product Rave: Rockstar Dry Shampoo

I should start out this post by saying that every time I decide to give in and try a dry shampoo, I always end up reverting back to my $1 bottle of baby powder. I just haven't found a product worth the money in my opinion.

I went to Ulta this week and ended up being in line for longer than one desires and ended up seeing the display for this product at the register. The sales associate saw me looking and started raving about it----I figured what the heck and gave it a try.
I have only used this once so I can't really give a full multi-use review but overall for a first time use, I am impressed. I love the smell of this, I have found a lot of dry shampoos aren't the appealing in the smell department but this one is very appealing. The product came out clear for the most part---every spray or so there would be a blast of white but the white rubbed in so easily and there were no traces that I had even used a white product on my hair. When I used the Brunette Oscar Blandi spray, it was clear but I felt it made my hair appear wet or more oily than it was initially. The feel of my hair wasn't stiff like I have seen with the Tresseme product but still provided volume.

Like I mentioned, I have only used it once so I guess on a first impression basis, I am sold. I am curious to see how long it lasts---it seems a lot of spray products don't really last all that long (even when the bottle still feels full). I'll definitnely keep you guys posted. Let me know if any of you have tried this as well!

I'm off to enjoy the 10+ UV Index and 93* weather today at the pool, have a great weekend!!

Happy Tuesday! I'm back with another outfit from last week. I wore this casual Friday. I'm feeling a little better but still not 100%----throat is good but now I have a runny nose and am sneezy. Ugh---just want it over with. At least tomorrow is hump day :-)

Outfit: Black Polka Dots...

It's that dreaded day again--Monday! It's funny that I never wake up on Monday morning ready to tackle the day, ever! Maybe I need to work on becoming more of a morning person.

I started half marathon training this past week but the whole crazy sore throat thing this weekend has already put me a little behind. I am hoping to get back into it as soon as I am feeling up to par. I started training for a half back in October. The plan was 12 weeks and the mileage increased every week, starting at 3 miles all of the way to 10. By the time I hit the week with 8 miles, I was interviewing for a new job and traveling for work very frequently.

To say the least, I was overwhelmed and pretty much quit training and didn't do the race. This time, I am doing things a little smarter. I am taking the 12 week plan and spreading it over 24 weeks and using 2 weeks to increase the mileage as opposed to every week. I feel this will also allow me to have a week or so to step back in mileage if I need a break. The race I am planning is the Miami Halloween Half Marathon.

Initially I was planning the Disney Wine and Dine half but I heard negative things and read some negative reviews and I think this race is going to be a better fit for me. My sister is training with me also and I think it will be an awesome accomplishment for us to do together.

On to the outfit:

This outfit is from last week and this is the first time I have worn this dress. I really like it and it was super comfortable. The dress code where I work is very liberal, anything goes. I work in the accounting department where people don't typically dress up so every time I wear something such as this, I get tons of comments as to why I am dressed up. I actually have more business dress clothes than casual so these are just easier for me to throw on. Oh well if I stick out compared to my coworkers...

I hope your Monday is going well! Later chicas!!

New Addition to my Shoe Family...

Any of you that have been following me for a while know I am definitely in love with shoes. I typically don't spend too much on shoes and I have never been one to purchase uber expensive designer shoes. With that being said, I have made my first Badgley Mischka shoe purchase courtesy of a Rue La La sale.

Blog Family, meet the newest member of my shoe family...

They are made of a taffeta type material and actually have an iridescence to them where in some lights, they look more nude. I really don't have any plans or ideas of when to wear these but I can't wait to wear them. I think they would look great with a black cocktail dress for a more dressy look or boyfriend jeans rolled up with a dressy top for a fun casual look. I'll definitely post when I wear these bad boys. :-)

On a more personal note, I have not been able to talk for two days! I started feeling a sore throat coming on about Thursday and then on Friday it was a little worse but nothing too bad or unbearable. The husband and I went to a happy hour Friday night at a pretty loud restaurant and then onto a cigar bar (read loud and TONS of smoke) and I woke up Saturday feeling like I was swallowing knives. I haven't really spoke since then and have been eating my weight in cough drops, hot tea, and popsicles. I feel fine other than being tired from lack of sleeping but I haven't had a sore throat like this in years. I really hope it clears up soon. Me not being about to talk---I feel like a super hero that has lost her super powers.

Happy Sunday and I am back into the swing of blogging again, just a little side tracked these last couple weeks.

Outfits: Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the great moms out there----what you do is amazing and I don't know how you do it all. I hope you are enjoying your day.
Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Yesterday I took my mom shopping at one of the stores where I get my employee discount. She got a couple of great outfits. We then went to lunch at Hemingways----yummy food! Here is my outfit from yesterday:

Shorts: Ann Taylor Loft
Top: Anthropologie
Sandals: Ann Taylor Loft

Today we went to church with my mom and my family and then had lunch afterwards at a great little outside cafe. It was a great time although it was kind of hot, especially since half of the seats were in direct sunlight (mine included). Here is what I wore this morning:

Dress: Express
Belt: Anthropologie
Wedges: Steve Madden

Tomorrow starts the work week already. I had a fabulous weekend so I can't really complain too much. In addition to all of the stuff I already mentioned, my sister and her friend, and I went out last night for dinner, drinks, and to see Something Borrowed. First of all the movie was awesome---go see it! Secondly, seeing the movie in a theater with a bar and leather, plush chairs is awesome. I seriously am getting spoiled and am never going to want to go to a normal theater again. We shared a bottle or two of prosecco---that my friends is the best way to ever see a movie, seriously!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend. I am off to grocery shop to get it over with for the week. Happy Weekend and enjoy your Monday.

Outfit: Coral and New Jeans...

Today is the first day I am wearing my new Banana Republic jeans. This is my first BR Jeans purchase and I have to say I am impressed. I tried this style on in the store but they didn't carry talls. The regulars were plenty long enough and I could probably wear a 2" heel with it but I have been looking for jeans to wear with my 4" wedges and heels. I ordered the talls online and they arrived yesterday. Needless to say, these are plenty long enough. I wore these today with my Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges and actually had to roll the hem up one time. Love them!

Jeans: Banana Republic
Top:Gap
Wedges: Cynthia Vincent for Target

Steve Madden is having a sale online, 25% and 30% off depending what you spend. You know I am going to be checking that out, SM is my fave when it comes to shoes. Here is the link for the sale!

Happy Cinco de Mayo, the hubs and I don't really have any plans, just going to grab some dinner somewhere since our house is barren in the food department. Any exciting Cinco de Mayo plans???

Tomorrow is Friday, this week flew by, thankfully!

Wow---where has the time gone....

I haven't posted in about a week or so and I don't really have any excuse. I have had a lot going on but really nothing overly pressing or important, just enjoying time with the husband.

We had a pretty eventful weekend this past weekend. On Saturday, we took the boat out on the water to an event called Party on the Bar. There were about 100 boats there, all enjoying live music being played on a barge and pretty much just hanging out. My sister and her boyfriend were able to join us. Here are some pictures from the day.

I had to work on Sunday for the first half of the day, getting off at noon. The hubs and I, along with some friends, drove over to Miami to watch Game 1 of Round 2 of the NBA Playoffs. The HEAT won and the game was totally awesome. I'm watching Game 2 right now, wishing I was there. The games are so fun and energetic.

I promise to get back to some outfit posts soon. I have a couple new things to share so its just a matter of remembering to take pictures before leaving for work. How was your weekends?? Good I hope.

Happy Almost Hump Day! Be back soon---I promise! ;-)
