What a great Holiday...

For the Thanksgiving long weekend, the hubster, some friends and I all went to Beaver Creek Co. For anyone who has never visited this area, it is about two hours west of Denver and it is amazing. It reminds me of an adult Disney World, anything one would want all in a cute, little quaint town. The weather was cold, very cold, especially in comparison to typical FL weather. It snowed very little which was disappointing but the views were amazing.

We stayed at the Beaver Creek Lodge. This is the same location where we spent our Honeymoon and it was just as nice this time around. The rooms come with a fireplace which helps fight the low temps.

Here are some of my fave pics from the trip...

View from top of Lions Head in Vail, which is about 15 minutes from Beaver Creek.

We did a really fun snow mobile tour at Piney River Ranch, up 9,800 ft.

Thankful for good friends and silly husband. Only pic of all of us together.
Hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving. I am so excited for the rest of the year. Hopefully I'll be able to get my tree up this week. Enjoy!

DIY Necklace

So after getting some inspiration from, I decided to try to make my own multi-strand necklace. DH & I ventured to the flea market two weeks ago and for $60, we got this haul...

So last night I finally got around to making it. I took one of the multi-strand necklaces that had a multiple loop clasp and started taking random strands and adding them. I think I want to add another strand of pearls to it. Here is it done, not on though because it was like 11p.m. when I finished it and I looked like crap. LOL

Also I finally got around to wearing the skirt I made. I have the necklace on too. I tangled it up for a more messy look but I plan on wearing it to a party tomorrow with a brooch to dress it up. I'll take pics then too.

Boots: Steve Madden
Tights: Express
Skirt: My own
T-Shirt: NY & Co
Cardigan: Express
Necklace: DIY

Happy Friday!! Welcome weekend, I have missed you!

Product Rave: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

I just want to RAVE about this product. I never thought I'd be one to buy lip product that cost over $20 but I saw this product at Sephora and I was automatically drawn to it. I think initially I liked the packaging but once I tried it, I was in love. For the last 10 years or so, I have always used Carmex as a lip balm and this has been the first product to draw me away from that. Sugar Lip balm goes on smooth, has a light scent, and works wonders in healing chapped lips. The product also offers an SPF 15. I highly recommend this and am expecting to buy my second tube on my next visit to Sephora. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

On a side note, there are these trees that bloom here in the Fall and they are my fave part of living here. I have no idea what they are but since my husband takes great pictures, I sent him out for pictures. Here are a couple I love...

(If you look closely, there is a bee in the flower)

I hope you all have a great week! xoxo

Lazy Saturday...

I love Saturdays when I have nothing to do but what I want. Well It's not that I don't have anything to do today but it's just that I chose not to do those things ;-) Once I decided not to do the work, house, and school stuff that I should I drug out some scrapbook stuff and did a couple pages. For those who don't know, I am a huge crafter---scrapbooks, sewing, baking, painting, whatever---so it's been a while so I thought I'd do a little of that.
Here are a couple pages that I did---hopefully my friends and family don't mind their pics up here---

I also got a chance to do a mani-pedi. I used the OPI Shappire in the Snow from the 2009 Holiday line. It looks a little more violet in real life. The polish was very creamy---you could prob get by with only one coat and a coat of clear. I have a mental block and always use 2 coats but I think you could do one.

Some products that I cannot live without when it comes to a mani-pedi are as follows:

Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover

OPI Ridge Filler (for fingers)

Orly Bonder (for toes)

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Even my little one had a lazy day...

Perfect Purple...

In case you are unaware, I am a purple polish whore. I have so many that my nails are almost constantly dark purple during the fall/winter months. I have found the perfect color tonight and I am kind of sad I just did my nails or I would do them with it now. I went to Ulta to get Essie's mint candy apple (which I got the last one of) and I saw that OPI has their holiday line out also. There is a purple creamy bluish color "Sapphire in the Snow". It is great. I will post a pic as soon as I paint them. There were a couple other Holiday OPI that I really wanted & Ulta was buy 2 get 2 but the hubby was with me. He already thinks I have a polish obsessive disorder. Don't tell him but I'll prob go this weekend for the other LOL. Shh!!

My (little) haul:

On a side note---OPI and Dell have teamed up and you can now get a Dell Laptop in one of 25 great OPI shades, including their famous "I'm Not Really a Waitress". The colors look great---something to look into if you are in the market for a new computer.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to all. I am super excited to post these pictures of last night because I loved mine and my hubby's costumes and I had such a good time. I was a mermaid and DH was The Joker.

Hubby actually did all his own makeup and did a really good job. For my makeup, I used fishnet stockings over my face and dabbed turquoises, blues, and shimmer golds over the fishnets to make the scales. It was UBER uncomfortable but the outcome was way worth it. I got tons of compliments. For the eyes, I wanted to use MUFE Hot Pink but couldn't come up with a look I liked so my bestie came up with the eye look using the MUFE pink yellow, and the same gold I used for the scales.

The products I can recall using are as follows:
MUFE Neon Pink 75
MAC Yellow (not sure the name)
LORAC Glam Rocks in Metallic Pearl
MAC Blue shadow (Fresh Water I think--not mine) to line the upper lashes
Urban Decay 24/7 in Zero
DiorShow Blackout Mascara

ULTA loose powder in a deep green
Urban Decay Narcotic shadow
MAC Blue shadow
ULTA Eyeshadow in Mint
LORAC Glam Rocks in Metallic Pearl

Nails were painiting using OPI La-Paz-itively Hot!

Sorry for the stupid faces-I really can't help it ;-)

Well It's already November but here in FL you would never know---its 92* today! Boo! Cold weather needs to arrive STAT!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and let me know what you think of the looks!
